Why does the Insurance Company need my social security number?
Most insurance companies use insurance scoring to help determine your rate, they need your social security number to obtain your insurance score whereas your drivers license number locates claims history and driving record. Your credit score is not the same as your insurance score, however both use the same credit report, they just grade it differently. Why? It helps determine the likelihood of filing a claim. Data has determined that a person’s credit rating if good then drops to poor is more likely to file an insurance claim than someone who has good credit and maintains that good credit. To get the best rate please make sure you provide accurate information, otherwise you may end up paying more in premiums then necessary. For more information visit: http://www.insurancescored.com/
