When you rent an apartment or house it is always a good idea to purchase renters insurance.  Why?  Well if someone breaks into your place and steels your stuff wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go buy all new stuff?  If there is a reason you cant live in the place because there was a fire your renters insurance will pay for a hotel.  Your landlord isn’t going to help you with that.  What if you have a party and your friend breaks her ankle trying to get around your dog?  She will want you to pay her medical bills.  Your insurance could cover this expense and the law suit that comes.  Plus anymore your landlord will require you to get insurance.  Just do it, it’s cheap.
